Please note: Starting Friday night, June 2, the bridge will be closed every Friday night from midnight to 7 a.m. through this fall; Saturday nights will be used as backup dates with the same closure times. The bridge weight limit is posted at 20 tons. 

This project is repairing the southbound I-395/Route 1 Exit 8C bridge that carries southbound Route 1 over the 395 Express Lanes, the northbound I-395 general purpose lanes and northbound Route 110.

The repair work includes retrofitting and spot painting structural steel, as well as replacing the catcher beam system and strip seal at the joint. 

The bridge was originally built in 1976 and rehabilitated in 1999. It averages 20,000 vehicles a day.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $1 million
Construction - $3 million
Total - $4 million

The project is financed with federal and state funding.

This project will improve safety and extend the overall life of the bridge.
