In Design: Piggott Bottom Road over Branch of Catoctin Creek Bridge Replacement in Loudoun County

Cost and schedule ►

Public outreach ►

This project will replace the Piggott Bottom Road (Route 711) bridge over Branch of Catoctin Creek. The original bridge was built in 1932 and rehabilitated in 1992, with several repairs made since. The proposed bridge will be slightly longer and higher to better withstand flooding, and includes precast concrete beams to reduce long-term maintenance.

The bridge averages 140 vehicles a day based on 2019 data.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $500,000
Construction - $1.7 million
Total - $2.2 million

The project is financed with federal and state funding, including State of Good Repair funds used for bridges.

The project aims to improve long-term safety and operations.
